MSA' s long-standing relationship with the GGNPC lead to a request to help with strategic improvements for Alcatraz Cell House as part of the Parks Master Plan by coordinate enhancements to the visitor experience. The project scope involved the addition of a permanent gift shop, office space for support staff, and an accessible elevator servicing visitors on three floors of the Cell House. MSA was responsible for the survey of site conditions for all affected areas of the prison Cell House, including the former shower room, kitchen support areas, dining hall, and the infirmary. Coordinating with the GGNPC's historical architect, structural engineers, and the exhibit and retail consultant, MSA managed the coordination of the Construction Documents and specifications for the project.
